Election-related question, but not political : )

My local newspaper already is reporting NH primary results. How? It says two precincts are reporting, but aren’t precincts required to remain open until 7 p.m. or some later time? Are precincts that small in NH that they know all eligible voters have voted?

Just curious …

Two very small towns in New Hampshire have a tradition where all eligible voters go to the polls to vote at midnight. They are always reported as soon as all the voters are done.

Oh, geez. Totally forgot about Dixville Notch! Thanks.

Yes.

There are large parts of NH with a lot of nothing but trees and a few people.
