How many credit hours are general education core electives and transfer electives typically worth? My College Algebra credit is worth 5 credit hours on a quarter system, but transfers as “MAT1TXX” to UGA. The “TXX” means transfer elective and a “GXX” would imply a general core elective. To convert quarter credit hours to semester credit hours, multiply by 2/3. So a 5 quarter credit course is 3+1/3 semester credits.
Whether it is counted for subject credit for GE or otherwise depends on the receiving school.
