Hey guys,
So I am going to PSU next year and was looking up the schedule for a liberal arts student. It shows on the schedule that there are all these core requirements in the liberal arts college and basically no room for electives until your junior and senior years where you only get one elective.
Am I looking at this right/is this right? If it is right, does it bother you that you don’t get any electives?
Thanks guys!
There are core requirements, major requirements and electives. a liberal arts education is by definition a broad based education. If you didn’t want a core you should have applied to Brown.
You can choose from A LOT of classes within each category. You’ll take English (ESL15, ENG015, or ENG 30 depending on your level), Communication, those are required for all students (essentially, you need to learn how to improve your written and spoken communication from high school student to professional adult) and then you get to choose within each category… and there are literally hundreds of choices.
