Right now I have a useless introductory computer class, and I wanted to take Spanish III. OF course I will take it next year, but now on my schedule I have a class that isn’t really “challenging me”. I know Stanford wants to see the student challenged them self. I was just wondering applicant/admitted people, how many “useless” electives did you take? I am a bit worried that this will hurt me, the non-honors-point classes not only hurt your GPA, but also the look of your transcript.

If it is only one class I’m sure it will not hurt much, but by transferring it may show that you are challenging yourself which is a good thing! And, as long as you get an A in the class it won’t necessarily hurt your GPA, Spanish III is also non-honors so unless your switching to an AP class… I don’t think it will have a big effect.

Yup (10char).
