Electric Coolers for Dorms -Brand Advice

I am trying to figure out which brand of electric cooler to buy for my son’s dorm room. The Coleman one at WalMart got really horrible reviews - mostly due to noise from the fan.

Any veteran parents out there remember what they bought?

im not a parent but im just wondering wat school ur child is going to…cause most school dont allow coolers…just wondering though

Good Luck! :)

From what I understand no school allows refrigerators, many allow thermoelectric coolers. Exeter does allow them.

Current Exeter students - correct me I am wrong…

oh thats interesting…i may ask my school about that

kent allows one fridge per dorm room :D

Libbyb4 is right-- somehow fridges are fire hazards but electric coolers not.

fridges are cold!

only with lots of electricity

Some schools do not allow them because the extra use of electricity is not eco-friendly.

anyone know if st. andrew’s allows them?
if you want a good really mini fridge… this is one:

keylyme, does NMH allow electric coolers?

I got a Kenmore mini-fridge. Its pretty good, all my friends at my sisters colleges reccomended the fridge to me.

I don’t know if NMH allows them; they try to be very eco-friendly and do not allow refrigerators in rooms. There is a small fridge in each of the halls of the boys freshman dorm (not sure about the girls). This was fine for my son.
