I really love them both, so the one I choose will be the one that will be more profitable in 15-20 years. Which one is going to be the more lucrative choice in the future? And also, if universal health care comes around, will it affect biomed engineering salaries? Overall, which one is the better choice thanks.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it, there will always be jobs and high salaries for both electrical and biomedical engineering. Choose the field in which you can see yourself working in for the next 40-45 years of your life.

Universal health care is only meant to expand affordable, accessible, and quality health care insurance to the millions of Americans ineligible for private or public insurance and health plans like medicare, medicaid, or SCHIP.

BME majors are expected to be in high demand as Obama and the expected new National Health Insurance Program will set new national standards of what defines “good quality” health care coverage and will invest tremendous sums of money into making medical technologies more cost effective and more EFFICIENT! That is were BMEs come in. COST EFFICIENCY will be the name of the game in Obama’s healthcare reform as he expects to weed out technologies that based on a cost benefit review from an independent bureau will determine which technologies are fit according to it’s benefits and whether it is worth spending tax payers money on in the future.
