I’m a upcoming senior in high school in NY, i’ve already decided that i want to take electronics engineering as a major, but am having a bit of trouble picking schools, and getting a top list.

I dont want to be burdened with debt when i finish college, so i thought it would be better to attend some less known, but still good schools instead of the big ones. With the recession most schools aren’t giving much financial aide and i have to pay for everything myself.

I am really interested in University of Missouri (columbia, which has a sweet college town) and also University of Maryland(not so nice of a college town). I want to be near the east coast, but i can’t seem to find any good and inexpensive engineering schools around besides University of Maryland.

One thing that is sort of dragging me towards the east coast is because its my home, but also because there is more diversity there in terms of international students etc… I speak french and i am currently learning chinese, so an international population is important to me.

Which schools would you recommend for me to look at, and would you say Mizzou is a good pick for an engineering major?

Thanks for any help!
