Ivy_187 here: I’m about to get accepted to Yale. I can feel it! Chances are, most people on this forum will get denied, statistically anyway. I mean, unless there are some amazing people here, which there does not really seem to be. Sorry all, but if you were really amazing, you would not be posting it on an online forum for people that are overly anxious. Though, it might be a relief of some sorts.

I am applying to Yale from Columbia General Studies because it’s just like, whoa. I mean, classes are decent here (really, really easy), but the GS students suffer on campus. We just are not the same as Columbia College, and I am reminded of that fact all the time. I even wrote about it in my essay. Plus, Eli Whitney just looks like an easier program than, say, transfer, because my high school gpa sucks.

My current stats:
Columbia GS: Bio major, 4.0.
URM: Latino, Mexican/Puerto Rican (hopefully, I get some affirmative action). I brought up the fact that I am latino a few times.
Unique Hook: I made lots of money when I was young. I have worked full time all the way though college and high school.
SAT: (RECENTLY) 2330. OLD: 1400 ( I was lazy).
I also lied and said I was GAY and this made life tough because gay people suffer. I was hoping for more affirmative action.

Good luck all! See you at the interviews. Oh snap!

I cannot believe people lie to the admissions office for affirmative action purposes. This is so weird. I think it’s cool, latino and all. But lying about stuff, come on? Is that really necessary? Don’t you think that the admission committee can smell bs when they read it?

I am shocked. Just SHOCKED!!! Is this an abuse of diversity?

Your right AnnLo he is done, because as soon as the ADCOM reads his constant (and fake) minority references they will not see them as a logical reason for his transfer to Yale College.

He’s a ■■■■■, don’t bother responding to him. He’s just trying to get a rise out of you, that’s his entire purpose in registering today to post. It’s not true, so don’t get worked up.

I’ve reported him to the mods. Hopefully they’ll deal with him.

Please, it takes more than being a minority to get into the ivies. This person is a joke and is not to be taken seriously. This person is competing against genuine inspiring narratives. A woe is me sob story is not going to cut it. Yale is an institution of higher learning, not a charity…
Ivies have been known to rescind offers due to dishonesty.

That’s right Pressurewave and how many gay hispanics from Columbia General Studies with a 2330 SAT, do you think applied to the Eli Whitney program this term? If, he’s not a ■■■■■, he just shot himself in the foot…

^Just in case this lying Yale EWSP 2009 applicant (Ivy_187) deletes his post for fear of the Admissions Committee reading his claims the post is copied here as follows:

Hey Pressurewave, no news on my end, but I know they won’t get my final transcript until Monday, so I am not surprised.
I guess this is the committee that will make the admission decision? Is it?

what does it say when you log on? application reviewed or something or interview? I was just curious because I did not think that they gave Whitney Students App ID, etc.

Yeah. I did not think that the Eli Whitney Students Program did the whole online application/materials/ID thing. I could be wrong, though. At least I am hoping so! Ha!

Ahhh, you know what - I originally applied as a Transfer, and switched to EWSP late in the game - that may be why I got an email - sorry to worry everyone. I’m pretty sure that’s what it was in reference to, my original Transfer status.
