Eli Whitney Students Program 2009

Nothing in the mail for me today.

pressurewave, you’re funny. no call for me either and mail hasn’t come yet; my wife will keep me posted.

annalo, if you’re comfortable, pop an email to Marianne and ask what the typical attire is for the admissions committee (or whoever is interviewing you). this may seem awkward but usually people are happy to answer. i have done this before every job interview i’ve had as it’s not good to over or under dress.

Same. No call no mail.

If you’re comfortable in a suit, wear a suit. You only have one chance to make a first impression.

Pressurewave…YOU ARE A MESS!! LOL!!
No news on my end today. Can you hear my teeth grinding?
Oh well, no news is good news. We are STILL in the game!!!
WOOHOO!

I’d take Ilivefree’s advice, Anna. That sounds great.

No news here. I’ll keep you posted.

No news from Yale - no calls, no mail.

I did get another letter from the Florida International University. They send me something every day. It makes me feel special. I wish they would stop, though, because every time I see the “small envelope” with some sort of official looking symbol on it, I become concerned.

I’m not sure why they’re even sending the letters each time, either… today’s said “Dear Pressurewave, hey there! How are you? Just wanted to say hello and ask how your day was. Was it good? Have you decided to come here yet? If not, please do. Love, Florida International University.”

All kidding aside, please don’t forget - whether or not Yale ends up being your destination, most schools would have a knife fight behind a gas station to get the folks in this thread there as students. Yeah! :D

no mail, just crap from the irs… oh goodie.

i think it’s cool, pressurewave, that they’re being so persistent! one school i applied to has done an EXCELLENT job of keeping me engaged with marketing material. it does keep us feeling special. :)

and thanks for the blanket compliment. :)

Pressurewave is right. Most schools would slobber all over our applications, but alas we want the “VERY” best…

geez, i’d be satisfied if i get into a private school. i’m so sick of community college and the poor teaching/classroom quality. i feel like going to sacramento and asking for my money back.

CA has great LAC’s, Mudd and Pomona are top shelf.
Consider my plight. Florida bites in the biggest way when it comes to education. I am at the very best school in my area and its sad, but they just don’t have the resources to accommodate my self-designed major.

how about in nor cal? i did apply to stanford. (even though i bleed blue and gold)

we’ll see, and sorry to hear that florida is worse. :(

by the way, what do you do for work again? hr consulting? i forgot.

I am a headhunter. LOL!! Seriously.

AWESOME!!! That is great work! C/VP level?

Yup. I go to school Full-time and work for myself now. It’s feast or famine when you are an independent.

i hear you, completely. i am also in school full-time and have two jobs (beats having 3 like last semester).

Gosh lady, you are a machine. this whole process is interesting. I was scrolling through some of the other threads and was not able to find “one” person who was accepted into this program. Did find three that were accepted as transfers…

i live in the bay area (can we say “expensive”?) i moved in when i was making money in sales and now that i am in hourly work, i have to work twice as hard. oh well. still getting A’s.

huh… well, it’s a tough program to be accepted to, no doubt. maybe anyone accepted was too excited to bother posting again. :)

Sounds like this program is more competitive than the transfer admission option.

Hey Pushin! Since your in Fl, do you have any advice about real estate in general? In particular, around the key largo area???

Yeah, there are only a couple of spots for Eli students. So the competition is keen, that’s for sure.
