Eligibility to Transfer to Berkeley

I believe that you need 60 credits to be able to transfer to UC Berkeley. Perhaps some of you have read my previous posts, but Berkeley is my dream school but I’m OOS. I got in this year but can’t afford the full 4 years. I’m already entering as a sophomore though at my state flagship university (thank you college board…maxing out on 30 credits), so would I be able to apply for next year? And I know that they favor in-state students for transferring, but the acceptance rate for OOS is still around 17%, which isn’t IMPOSSIBLE.

The “chance of transfer” issue aside, it can get a little tricky to satisfy the transfer admission requirements from an OOS college. You will need to satisfy the 7-course breadth requirement and whether any of the courses you take at your college will satisfy any of the requirements is just all guesswork. For more information about the breadth requirement, see http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer/requirements/community-college/index.html</a>. If you know your major, there are more detailed, campus-specific brochures for some popular majors at [University of California - Transfer path by campus](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer/preparation-paths/campus/index.html).
