Does anyone know how good is this college?.. How dynamic is the living and learning environment.?..Please do write whatever you feel about this college.
Thank You

How come no one in cc has some words to write about this college?

I had a great experience at Elmira College, although as an alumnus my POV is somewhat biased. My academic program was challenging and the professors seemed genuinely interested in my intellectual growth as a student. As a mostly residential college (nearly 100 percent with some exceptions) there was a strong sense of community among the students. The campus is beautiful, the surrounding city is not, but that is the case with many colleges in Upstate NY.

^^ thanks for the information

I would want some more people to come up and write about Elmira college as I am in two mind whether or not to apply to elmira college.

i went to Elmira and transferred to Boston College after 2 years. It was an excellent experience for me. In high school my GPA had been 3.45 at a large public high school. Elmira gave me the chance to become a leader and get involved in lots of activities. Ireally grew there and got a 3.85 GPA. Later, i got an MBA from University of Chicago, rated #1 by Businessweek. I have to say that Elmira College gave me the opportunity to know myself and believe in myself. You can’t ask for more than that.

It has a really good freshman writing program- although I believe it is on Sat. am which is a problem for some students. My D applied there in 2010 but ultimately decided it was not right for her. It has a large percentage of NY students, and I don’t think it is terribly diverse. It has a lot of “school spirit” from what we observed and while not highly selective, has good professors and academics.
