Email from Dean telling me to still apply?

I just got an email saying that I can still apply for Cornell for consideration for the class of 2012. It also said that my application fee had been waived if I applied within the next week or so.

Does anybody know what this is about/Has anybody gotten anything similar? If I do apply, what do you think my chances are? I'm guessing that Cornell has pretty much filled out a class already so I would most likely just be waitlisted. My major is Mechanical Engineering if it makes a difference.

Umm.. I got an email like that too - except it was from Cornell College? Haha, but if it's from Cornell University you should definitely take advantage.

Check the date of the email. Was it sent on April 1st?

Yeah, I just checked again and it was from Cornell College not Cornell University. Didn't know there was a difference between them.

I did get it on April 1, but it was from a Cornell based website so I'm pretty sure it isn't April Fools.

Cornell College is a (very) small liberal arts college in Iowa.

That's a cruel April Fools joke.
