I received an email from MIT saying that OEOP at MIT suggested that admissions contact me as a potential candidate for admission for the freshman class entering in the fall of 2012. The email then went on to share a “timely tip” in taking the SAT Subject Tests in addition to the SAT Reasoning Test.

Should I feel special or do all MITES rejects receive this email?

I received that email too! But I don’t think all MITES applicants received it because I talked to another person who applied and they didn’t get this email.

Maybe I’m being optimistic, but I say take it as a sign of MIT’s interest in you. :)

I got one too. Rejected by MITES but accepted to HSHSP. I would think they sent it to everyone because it’s just too much of a hassle not to.

rejected from MITES, but in at e2 and I got the message.

Honestly, I really like the gesture even if it was only sent to MITES rejects.
