Emailed by a Stanford Lecturer. Coincidence?

A few days ago, just when I’d think the admissions committee would be reading my app, a lecturer from Stanford, who was involved in an EC I did, emailed me, saying he was writing an article about the EC and asked me some basic questions. He didn’t mention Stanford at all.

On my Stanford resume, I mentioned this fellow off-hand as being involved in the EC to provide a bit of legitimacy.

Do you guys think this was a just a random coincidence or something else?

no way. they were checking you out i’m sure to make sure you weren’t just dropping names. hopefully you gave the right answers!

best of luck to you. :)

They were almost certainly checking you out. Lecturers don’t just randomly email people, they’re far too busy for that. Chances are he got your e-mail from your application. Good luck!

What was the EC? Maybe they thought it sounded questionable…
