My son has been accepted to both Embry Riddle and Florida Institute of Technology. We are leaning to Embry Riddle for almost every reason, except…FIT has twice the number of Computer Science students enrolled as of Fall 2021.
Can anyone offer an opinion of which school is best for the major?
When we visited both, we like Florida Tech better. Daytona is not nice and Florida Tech is a nice campus in a nice area.
We needed to eat. We did so at Florida tech. It was yummy. They have highly rated food. We never did at ERAU. We asked the person at the info desk where to eat. He asked…do you have a car ? Yes. He said anywhere but here. We left campus.
Both offered my son 50% merit toward tuition.

I thought EmbryRiddle was more of the computer school, with lots of cyber security majors. Fl Tech does have nice computer spaces. The food is good (international flair). If you say there are twice as many CS students enrolled, that means Fl Tech will have twice the choices for sections of the same class. That could make a difference for a student who likes afternoon classes as opposed to morning, or even a night class.
