sorry snopes is of a very defined slant. I give no more credibility to snopes than any other blog.
Truth has a slant, too, apparently. And Snopes gives their sources.
sorry I dismissed snopes years ago as a blog and give it no weight as a valid source…on any subject.
Funny how everyone is quick to believe something from the Daily Mail, but not its debunking. And you call the students gullible.
Yes, it sounds like an Onion article, because essentially, it is. smh.
yeah everyone picks and chooses their sources and what they believe or not that is nothing new or unique to people on college confidential. I read the op/ed that snopes posted as a “fact check” on their blog and it disproved nothing it only added their conjecture and opinion as opposed to anything that was missing from what has been reported in the news. nothing wrong with reading blogs with a slant i read them all the time I just do not take them as gospel.

TL:DR: Snopes is your friend, if you’re liberal.
This is not about political leanings. Factchecking is a good thing. If you’d rather do it directly, forget the British tabloid article and look to the local paper. http://m.ajc.com/news/news/local-education/trump-chalkings-roil-emory-university/nqrxj/. There are more articles at the AJC. Read away. http://m.ajc.com/news/news/local/trump-emory-and-chalk-line-dirt/nqr72/. I am more frightened by artificially orange skin.
I keep thinking, “What is UP with that?!?!?!?” I have no reasonable explanation.
There is no reasonable explanation!!
nrddsb4 I have zero love for the orange guy in the photo I just do not like what is happening with the perfect storm on college campuses between the social justice warriors and administrators that pander to them. their views and truths are not the only ones and the two front assault on thought and debate is scary! it has me giving sympathy to people and ideas I would normally not want a part of. it is alice in wonderland.
Emergency counseling. Do you actually believe that?
@fractals that’s pretty funny that you posted a fact check article that concludes that snopes is not biased. Did you read it before you posted it?
This is what the FactCheck said in a relevant paragraph of the linked article:
and:
Awesome. Good sites. ![]()
You can always tell whether someone is jumping the shark if they refer to snopes as “biased” when the vast majority of snopes is apolitical, pop-culture urban legends.
Smh, fractalmstr. Your very own Factcheck article explicitly says Snopes is well researched and documented. But, you see the world as “them” and “us.”
Lol, ok, you guys got me there.
I admit I didn’t read the entire link as I was in a hurry. Nevertheless, I do not think the snopes article is any more trustworthy than what multiple news media sites put out. The content in several of the news articles I read seemed to align with what was written in the dailymail, although the dailymail piece did have more of a subjective tone to it.
Well the thing about snopes is that you don’t have to trust them, they provide sources for everything so you can check them yourself.
It does take a little work and I think we all know that a site like the daily mail is counting on its readers not to bother.
The Daily Mail isn’t the National Enquiree, but neither is it the NYT/WSJ.
this is a great summary

I agree, zobroward. I especially liked this quote:
Good grief, someone hand this kid a pacifier…
