Everyone sign up for or have their kid sign them up for emergency notifications? Last year we had a couple tests. Just today tho we got a msg about a stabbing and then a 2nd msg that no one from the college was involved. Still tho, it was a long wait to hear back from my son that he was just fine. He was in the studio broadcasting live. So I go from a bit nervous to quite relieved to then actually hear his voice alive and well via internet streaming. Good grief.
I didn’t sign up.
My kid is in state about an hour away. I’d probably hear on the news if anything happened. Not sure what I could do in any case.
I am signed up. I’m not sure why my parents would. Anything that happens at the school they can hear from me or the news.
I get alerts all of the time about incidents. Mostly minor and sometimes false alarms.
These things cause wayyyy too much anxiety imo.
I don’t sign up. A few years ago when they had multiple bomb scares, I was especially grateful I hadn’t signed up. Most of the bomb scares didn’t affect her, and when they did, she usually said something to us.
I didn’t sign up when our kids were in school at USoCal. I was too nervous that I"d be getting notices too often and not a dang thing I could do for my kids. I am not sure whether my kids signed up either, but they’ve graduated at this point and are still intact.
It was bad enough signing up for country alerts when ds was in Jordan, no way do I want to know about every little thing on campus!
it’s been interesting reading about the laptop thefts, where they happen, what time and how
