Emerson College

I was wondering why Emerson doesn't rank high? Is Emerson a joke?

didnt that college appear on a MTV show...i think it was "True Story - I'm a high school senior"...?

I know an Emerson grad well. S/he knows many other grads. It is known for ppl who want careers in filmmaking, communications etc. S/he says that many industry ppl send their not so smart as (insert better school) kids there. S/he thought it was Ok but does some poor stuff in admin area (tried to start a law school then dropped ppl, not a good grad school), but s/he has many, many contacts in LA who do well and s/he did work at William-Morris for 5 years. S/he also knows many grads who are successful, so s/he poo-poos a lot and s/he was lucky to get in as a transfer.

Said Boston is fab for a Calif person to go, if you want the away experiance.

I think Emerson did come out on MTV.

One of the reasons I'm interested in Emmerson is because I've read comments of what the students are like and they seem like me. Like my personality is a perfect reflection of the typical students.

My major would be advertising/graphic design, something in that area. And I really really want to be out of Cali, so Boston sounds like a great city to be at.

I'm gay and I heard there's a big gay population at Emmerson and Boston University, but I'm stuck on what school to apply to. I would apply to both but that'll be a total of 9-10 applications that I'd have to fill out. Someone help. Boston or Emmerson?

yeah i wanna go to school in boston too...a lot!!....hopefully to northeastern if i get accepted

and about ur question...apply to both

Emerson is not a joke. There are tons of industry people who went there and you'll have good contacts. Friends says there is a large gay population for sure. Probably in the communications dept at BU too.

See what I like about Emerson it's that a small school and I like the small community thing, but what I like about BU is that it's a big school meaning more gay guys. This is so hard deciding between Emerson and BU.

Liek0806, I know what you mean about not being able to choose... One day I think that I manage to deal with a nonexistant gay population at a small school because I like the community so much, and then next day I feel like I HAVE to go to a big school that has lots of gay kids (NYU) or I'll die. It's driving me insane not being able to choose.
