Emerson's Marketing Communications degree?

Can anyone tell me about this program, as well as the Entrepreneurial Studies minor? Does this program center solely around the fine arts (i.e. marketing for television/film, etc) or is it more broad?
Thanks for any info!

I would suggest you contact the school through their site emerson.edu or via facebook. But my guess is that it will be directed towards film/tv/magazines industry. My daughter will be a Freshman this fall but in theater studies: Acting.

My daughter will be a senior in the Marketing Communications program at Emerson and I just asked her your question. She said that the program is very broad and not at all centered around the fine arts.

Thank you Jilliebean! That's good to hear. While my daughter is active in theater/fine arts, she is not looking to major in that area.

I'd be interested to know of any internships she participated in. Is she happy with the program? What is she looking to do after graduation? Thanks for any further info - while websites and catalogs are helpful, finding a first hand perspective is invaluable :)

Last fall she did an internship with a company that did lobbying for health related issues. She had a lot of interaction with legislators on Beacon Hill. This summer she is doing a internship with a radio station in Boston and is loving it. She wants to get into the music industry either with a radio station or record label.
She has been very happy with the program at Emerson. She will also graduate with a minor in business.

Thanks so much for the insight - good luck to your daughter, you must be very proud :)
