[Girls prep of the week: Emily Livingston - Marin Independent Journal](http://www.marinij.com/sports/ci_12500389)

"Redwood, Track, Senior

What she did: In the 800 meters, the three-sport standout ran a personal best time of 2 minutes, 14.93 seconds and took second place at Saturday’s North Coast Section Meet of Champions. Her effort earned her a second consecutive state meet appearance.

What she said: “I’m definitely excited to end my senior season this way. It’s a great goal to accomplish. At the start of the year, I wasn’t as confident because I had a (foot) injury in the first six weeks, so it definitely feels like a great accomplishment that I don’t take fore granted. (The state meet is) a step higher, with tougher competition. But now I know what to expect, so I can just focus on running my race.”

What’s next: Though her distinguished high school athletic career will end next weekend, her personal one is just beginning, as she will enroll at Princeton University and join the track team this fall. She is excited to go to a school with “such a good combination of athletics and academics.” . . . (continued)
