Emmanuel College

Our Son was accepted to a couple of schools that we have heard of and are familiar with. Suny New Paltz, & St. Michael’s. However he has his heart set on attending school in Boston. He is interested in English and Creative Writing. He has also been accpeted to Emmanuel College. We have visited the school however really don’t know much about it. Does anyone have any insight about the school they can share. Thanks!!

Hi! I’m going to Emmanuel nest year, and am looking for some insight myself. I haven’t been able to visit the campus yet, what is it like?

It’s always a good idea to visit a college before committing to it.

I have a sister in law who went here years ago. I don’t know that much other than it is one of the Colleges of the Fenway…my daughter was accepted to two of them, but chose a larger school in Boston instead. The area is nice and close to other schools besides their network. I think it is pretty cool and unique how the share resources with the other schools .

Son attends one of the COF schools, Wentworth, and has had a few students from Emmanuel in his classes (I think linear algebra). He cuts through both Emmanuel and Simmons to get to places and says they are nice areas, and sometimes eats at another COF’s cafeteria, I think Mass Art? He absolutely loves student life in Boston, gets around everywhere by walking or the “T”.

Here’s a link to a news report and video son sent me about the recent goose problem at Simmons (I think Emmanuel is in the background), and the creative solution Simmons came up with - Finn the dog!

Not a very flattering day with the melted snow mounds, mud, goose droppings and dreary skies, however the cute dog makes up for it.

They had a hint of spring with 60 degree weather the last few days. That’s all gone now, snow, cold, snow, and more snow. Son loves it!

A different video report on the same story that shows a bit more of the area.
