<p>I don’t think people should define their style and how they are by the music they like. I listen to emo/punk(Academy Is, The Starting Line etc) country and some rap and I dress like a normal teenager. I dont understand why some kids feel like they have to dress a certain way to go with the music they lsiten to.</p>

<p>it’s funny because I have emo glasses which my very Asian mother bought me, not knowing they were “emo glasses”… they’re just normal prescription lenses. I wear contacts now, so it’s okay. =D</p>

<p>Actually I didn’t know they were emo either. I’m really a very unmusically obsessed person for someone who has played an instrument for eleven years.</p>

<p>Everyone here complains about their parents, and mine are definitely stressful to be around, but they are fundamentally nice people… the emo glasses remind me of that. :D</p>

<p>It sounds like you have a major loophole because your parents don’t know American culture, which can offset the education-nuts personality. At least they are nice; I have seen worse.</p>
