MODERATOR’S NOTE TO " Emory Class of 2012 RD Results Thread" THREAD:

There has been a request sent to the moderation team, which I see echoes other comments posted in the thread, to keep the thread on its topic of regular decision results for applications to Emory class of 2012. Please avoid speculating on other issues besides the issue of what your own admission results are.

As always, if you see a problem post on College Confidential, one that you think violates the letter or the spirit of the Terms of Service,

please report that to the moderation team by using the “report problem post” link on any post.

Congratulations to the young people who have been admitted to Emory, best wishes to those still waiting for news, and good luck to everyone for having a great year at college next year.

simone, I wouldn’t completely right off Emory if you don’t get the scholarship. I’d imagine anybody who’d qualify to apply for it would have significant need enough to be included in the Loan replacement program, or at the very least, the $15k loan cap. Speaking of which, have any of you URM RDers gotten your financial aid package yet? Somebody on facebook mentioned getting his, but as far as I know, even EDI applicants haven’t received their final finaid statements yet.

hi. i was accepted the other day via the contreversial early notification, and yes my financial aid is up. however, i am pretty sure that i am a candidate for the emory advantage program, the loan replacement one, but, this was not offered to me in my FA packet. i’m not sure if emory has a specific date for those programs or whatever, and am a little confused, not to mention worried, seeing as my attendance depends on them.

I have a question.
when i log in opus, lerner servies and then admissions: i don’t get a “view admission desicion” or whatever, but i DO get next steps: campus event registration.

whats up with that?
am i accepted or does that show up on everyone’s opus?

Same here :
My family qualified for a Pell grant under the FAFSA, etc.
And I got a $40k finaid package from the University of Miami (which includes a $24k scholarship)
And my Emory finaid package was only a $3500 Stafford loan :

My mom & I are hoping that maybe the packages aren’t finalized yet? Bc there’s def no way I can go to Emory on $3500 of help a year

hey brittnay, our situations are eerily similiar. I got the same offer from miami and what seems like the same Finaid offer from emory. I dont know what gives? My EFC was around 8000, and our income was below $50,000, and your absolutely right about emory being a huge stretch with only 3500 in aid.
