Emory for Science?

I have talked to the college counselors at my high school and they dont really seem to know about Emory for science. I want to become a pharmacist, but I want to work in the Pharmaceutical industry so I think that college reputation and alumni and networks are very important. Also, I think that grades are more important than reputation, so is Emory veery competitive for sciences? Will I have a hard time competing against the pre-meds while I just want a Bachelors in Science degree? Is it easy to get research opportunities and internships through Emory?

Thanks

if you just want to go to college for the 4.0, forget emory and other tier 1 institutions.
if you want the unique research opportunities and internships, be prepared to be in a competitive environment. nothing in life is free, so don’t look for the easy route. you are only cheating yourself. i can’t think of a university that will provide top tier educational experiences without the competitiveness.

Definitely not hard to get research or internships here. Sometimes it’s not merely your grades and accolades, it’s how well you know some professors and other faculty members (which are typically more accessible at private tier 1 schools). The study environment is very collaborative, which makes it easier to do well and subsequently maintain access to the various opportunities. While you may not get a 4.0, you can do really well here.
