What’s the difference?
Can I apply for both as an incoming freshman? (senior now)

And in order to apply for Emory Scholars Prog,
do I just go straight to our school’s college counselor and ask her to nominate me?
How does this work?
I’m confused…
:((

OH YEAH and
what’s the diff b/w Emory and Oxford?
For some reason, Oxford has a higher rate of acceptance…and lower SAT scores and such.

First of all, yes you can apply to both programs. You cannot be accepted into both programs though. Emory scholars is a lot bigger than Goizueta scholars and they accept a lot more applicants than the Goizueta program. Last year there were only 10 accepted Goizueta scholars but a ton more Emory scholars. Goizueta scholars is also a lot newer than the Emory scholars program. Each program is different and you get different perks/scholarships if accepted.

If I were you I would just go talk to my counselor. At my school, I just asked to be nominated and that was all I needed to do. Some of my friends, however, had to go through some interviewing process. It completely depends on the school and how many other people want it.

There are a fair amount of differences between Emory and Oxford. There are hundreds of old threads on here with a lot more information than I have. Basically, it’s a lot smaller and focuses a lot more on liberal arts. It is also said to be very similar to high school and possibly an easier transition. Some people at Emory consider Oxford to be a “back door” into Emory because it’s easier to get in.

Hope that helps.

Um…are international applicants eligible for the Emory Scholars Program?
