I was waitlisted at Yale RD this past admission season and am now at Emory as an Emory scholar in the Emory Scholars Program. I am not very happy with Emory and Yale is still my first choice. If I transfer, would I have an advantage since I was nearly accepted in April?

To answer your question? Nope.

It’s infinitely more difficult to enter Yale as a transfer than a freshman. That said, you’d have to come up with some stunning application since those statistics narrow when transferring from another elite–or fairly elite–institution.

I think it helps. I was waitlisted at Brown and got in as a transfer very fast. I had a 3.3 at Columbia. I also got into Harvard, Dartmouth, and Duke.

I would also look to try elsewhere beyond Yale. There HAVE to be a couple other schools, like Harvard, Penn, Brown, Dartmouth, etc that you could like. Its still iffy but I am sure you could get into one or two of three.

why dont you like emory
