Alright i’m trying to get into Emory University in ATL, GA…

GPA: my weighted GPA is 4.27
unweighted is around 3.7 or so (i think…kinda low for top schools)

SAT: 1240 (Math=Verbal) but i retook it recently so trying to get it up as well
1790 =Total SAT

High School Career: Full Diploma Student in the International Baccalaureate Program
Ranked #4 In the Senior Class of 450

Extra Curriculars: Top Model United Nations Delegate for 4 years
President of Model UN
President of National Honor Society
Senior Council/ BETA/ IB Council/ member

Internship at the National Infantry Museum (biggest in state)

So what do yall think about my chances into Emory U? Also, opinions on Kennesaw State University, and other GA schools?

I think that SAT score is going to hurt your chances a lot. Its extremely low for Emory. I’d say its a high reach. I’m not to knowledgeable on other Georgia schools, though.
Good luck!
Maybe try the ACT?

Hey, I’m applying to Emory too, chance me back?

I think you’re a pretty competitive candidate outside of the scores, and if you have an outstanding essay, good teacher recs (if they need any for non-Scholars, unless you are applying Scholars), and apply Early Decision, I’d say you are in. Would still classify as a “low reach.” Goooood luck!
