In my “why emory” essay, I focused mainly on the awesomeness (well I didn’t use that word) of the emory healthcare student, and the opportunities for hands on learning. Am I wrong in assuming that undergrads would also have these opportunities, and not just med school students? Would it seem ignorant to write about how the intimacy b/w the uni and the hospital appeals to me? I’d rather not rewrite my entire essay, but if it’s incorrect…

I wrote about…the same thing, lol.

well, there i thought i was onto something. at least i think i have a unique take on it. but could you answer my question? i didn’t get from the website that there was actually undergrad involvement…

Yes. Undergrads do have the ability to get experience with the Emory hospital and other area hospitals. Off the top of my head, I know of a few classes that allow that access. For example, clinical neurology, an advanced neuroscience and behavioral biology course, has undergrads shadow doctors, present case studies, etc. You might want to check out the course catalogue for more specifics.

thank you so much! those opportunites sound thrilling. glad to know i wasn’t horrifically off base.
