Emory vs. BC Honors

Hey, I live in Rochester, NY and really don’t know which college to go to. I got into both Emory and BC honors and while location has no bearing on where I go, I am a sort of sportsy person which draws me into BC, however BC has no frats, while that is all they do at Emory!

Emory, is on all the college lists, ranked higher than BC, however does the honors program look that good?
Also, for someone that is interested in business and medicine, which college has the better pre-med and pre-business programs?
Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks!

ya youre goin to get a much more sportsy environment from BC, plus while it may not have the frats, the quads, a group of dorm is just as good as any frat

Emory actually has a well-regarded business school (and medical system) so that would help.

And I am pretty sure that you can apply to be in an honors program once you arrive at Emory. That’s the way it works at most universties

bumpp k

there is no honors program at emory outside of the senior honors thesis. emory is probably better in terms of both business and premed. emory does have frats but i would hardly say that “that is all they do at emory.” 30% are in the greek system so the majority are not involved in frats.

bumpppp ppp

My son and his girlfriend both graduated from Emory a year ago. Neither was part of the Greek system; they both had a very good and fun four years there. thye had friends who were greek and friends who were not. The greek system at Emory is not monolithic like it is on some campuses; being in ahouse does not define who you are or limit your friendships.

Both had good jobs in their areas of interest for after graduation and they are thriving in their careers.

I’m a BC grad…the lack of a Greek system should not be what deters you. THe Mods (not quads) serve as a space for typical college parties which we supplemented by three great sports teams and the best college town in the world
