I got into both as a transfer, which one do you think will have better job placement after college? I plan to major in business (finance)

Where are you right now? I would lean towards NU unless you plan to work for Coca Cola…

new york city

lady: try to contact some of the recent Emory grads who are in NYC and currently unemployed…in a good economy, Goizueta had ok NYC recruiting; now, not so much…also, do the same for NU…

no ones recruiting was good recently in this economy, and hopefully everything will change when im out of school in 3 years

you misunderstood; If your goal is to return to NYC, a little more research needs to be done to determine which school attracts NYC recruiters…a couple of Goizeta/Emory parents I am associated with were concerned about the lack of NYC companies recruiting there…NO idea about NU…

OTOH, if you want to relocate to an area of the country that is experiencing growth in the field of finance when you graduate, that’s a different story…
Also, you state that you will be out of school in 3 years? are you a soph transfer? IF so, you still need to apply to Goizueta as a junior; have you been accepted to NU directly into the equivalent of their business major? makes a difference…

Job placement depends mostly on the strength of your resume and the strength of your interview. Your school plays into the former, and on that score NU is more impressive that Emory, although Emory is a very fine school. However, NU does not have an undergrad business major, and as a transfer I am not sure that you would be eligible for the Kellogg certificate program. So you would most likely major in econ and/or minor in business institutions. You are not truly comparing apples to apples.
That being said, I would pick NU over Emory in a heartbeat.

northwestern econ > emory econ
kellogg > goizueta

chicago > atlanta

northwestern >>>> emory

^That’s your personal opinion. ladygirl might have a completely different view of Chicago and NU’s business school. I do agree that Northwestern’s econ is very good (my dad got his Ph.D there).

^that’s fact not opinion.

I made a mistake when I posted my statement. I was referring to the cities.

emory is a nice school but northwestern wins here for sure.

Emory is an excellent school with a large endowment. Beautiful campus as well. Don’t really know how it compares to NU point by point though.

thanks for the help, Emory all the way though

Northwestern…period
