I darn well hope it’s right in my case. Apparently I’m able to control my mood (and other pish posh attitude stuff), now all I need to do is make the weather change in accordance to my mood. That would be real talent there.

EQ isn’t really about being cold, I’m reading a best-selling book about emotional intelligence (by David Goleman) and it claims that one who is emotionally intelligent has higher levels of self-awareness (to ‘read’ other people and understand how they are feeling, so you can better direct the flow of any conversation), self-management (to perceive one’s own emotions and control it before you let it engulf you-ie: anger), social-awareness (to understand the way a social network operates, may be useful if one is new to an organization, etc) and relationship management (to influence others while handling conflicts; persuasion, etc).

I think EG was something that was made up to make people with lower IQ’s feel better about themselves. Wonder what that statement says about my EQ!!!

EQ actually has a great impact on our lives. Successful people tend to have higher EQ than most people. But unlike IQ, you can’t really ‘learn’ EQ. It’s just learning from past experience and developing techniques that help you through life. Or you could just look at models that people have spent years developing, and try and incorporate it into your lifestyle. Sounds easy, but it’s actually really hard.
