Employee stock purchase plan and efc

We have espp, but NO sales allowed per employer.
Do we have to include espp $$ as investment asset, since we can’t sell?

Is he stock vested (i.e., it can’t be forfeited)? If so, I think it may be deemed an asset, even though it’s not a liquid asset. But this is the kind of highly specialized question that merits a phone call (to FAFSA or the PROFILE college, as the case may be).

It would be hard to argue that it has no value, since you are willingly paying money for it.

I don’t think the liquidity is really an issue.

I would read up employee stock but I agree, it’s an asset but how it’s accounted and valued might depend on how the espp is structured. If you have a financial planner that person might know.
