Encouraging Words Needed: Merit-Based Aid for Prospective Out-of-State Freshman

New to this site and looking for words of encouragement about the chances of an out-of-state incoming freshman (School of Nursing) getting merit-based aid. Thanks.

If you are one of the tippy-top students entering this year you may get alittle, but in general UofM is not strong with merit based.

How are your scores and GPA?

ACT 31, SAT 2000, GPA 4.3

I may be wrong as I am not familiar with nursing school, but these scores are below average at Umich and not likely to get merit aid.

You’re probably not likely to get merit aid. Not many people get merit aid

Are the good with financial aid?

Well thanks to everyone for the encouraging words!

And Universoty of Michigan does not meet full need for out of state students.

There are some very selective scholarships, but they are few in number, and highly competitive!

They will meet need as defined by the Profile for in-state students only. Pell Grants (and any other federal grant aid) will be distributed based on the FAFSA.
