Ending a monologue with a question

I “created” the monologue I’m performing for my BU audition tomorrow morning out of a bunch of shorter lines a character says, telling a fluid story {just interjected by her mother, who she ignores}. Her story is her leading up to asking her mother a question that has been bothering her, but I’m not sure whether it’s okay to end a monologue in a question when it won’t be resolved. It wouldn’t involve any additional work, really, just adding 7 words to my already prepared monologue… the idea just struck me today while practicing.

Keep with what you’ve been practicing, number one. But I’ve NEVER heard anyone say that ending a monologue with a question was a bad idea. It’s completely acceptable and leaves your audience wanting more.
