Disregarding my earlier post about electrical engineering in the construction industry, what are some of the benefits to having a degree in any field of engineering at a construction company? For example, civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or mecanical engineering? I’d be interested in those because that’s what my school offers. Thanks!

Construction companies tend to hire a lot of civil engineers because well… the largest component of their work is related to structures. There’s a branch of civil engineering (or perhaps you can say its not exactly civil engineering but related) dedicated to construction (construction management) which I myself am interested in. As somebody said earlier in the other thread, electrical engineers do get hired to design the electrical systems of buildings. Mechanical engineers do the HVAC systems.
