How is the engineering here? I got accepted to Cal Poly Pomona, SDSU, UCSC, and UCD. I hear that engineering at the UC system tends to be very theoretical compared to a cal poly tech school.

Go to Cal Poly Pomona for engineering. UCD is mainly an ag school in the middle of nowhere.

I’m not sure that being in the middle of nowhere is relevant to the quality of the engineering program. For that matter, having a strong ag program also doesn’t equate to a weak engineering program.

Egmontus yes loves Cal Poly Pomona… but he takes it too far sometimes… CPP isn’t greater than Davis at ALL!

It depends on what you want to do in the future, your type of learning (hands on or theoretical etc…

egmontus, what are you talking about?

Davis has a far superior engineering program then any college on that list of yours. I might be choosing Davis over Purdue and Santa Barbara Engineering. They are ranked around #30 overall. For specific fields such as BME, Davis is just outstanding. I went to Davis Decision Day today, and after talking to some of the students at the Engineering section(Who chose Davis over schools like Berk, UCLA, UCSD), I am convinced that Davis is a very good school for Engineers.

^ @The Legend, true that! Today was awesome! so much free stuff haha.

I recommend you ignore egmontus.

naixn92, ahaha, yeah. Free cookies and desserts and the food in the residence hall was awesome!

yeah! woah. it makes me want to go Davis so bad now! it was such a great day!

“The just-released NSF 2008 Rankings of Top 100 Institutions in R&D expenditures report ranks UC Davis biomedical/bioengineering 6th in the nation. This is up from 9th in the prior year (2007) NSF rankings. The NSF ranked UC Davis biomedical/bioengineering 1st in the UC system for the third year in a row.”

and naixn92, yeah. lol

is uc davis any good for computer science engineer?
