Engineering Decision - Need Advice!

So I’m looking at a few MSME programs and would appreciate any advice that will help me with my decision!

A little background: I’m only looking to complete my master’s degree as I plan on working in the medical device industry afterward. That said, one of my programs is focused specifically on this field - JHU’s new master’s in Bioengineering Innovation and Design (the only non-MSME program I applied to). The other schools I’ve been accepted to are Minnesota, Berkeley, and Stanford…still waiting on Michigan and MIT. Unfortunately, if I decide to attend JHU I need to do so by March 27 because their program starts at the end of May.

First of all, I’m curious as to whether or not it’s worth it to pay for a “better” degree for this type of master’s. The only place I have funding is Minnesota (I’ve also applied for an NSF fellowship, but I understand my chances are pretty slim especially as a master’s student). Specifically, are the payoffs for attending certain schools worth the cost? Also, should I be at all hesitant of JHU’s new program since I won’t be getting a typical degree? Right now I’m up in the air about what to do. Any advice is appreciated!

I think it you should definitely consider the program offering you funding, since funding for master’s is not easy to come by. Especially if you will be moving put of state, the cost of out of state tuition and living expenses can really add up.
