hows the Engineering graduation rate at UCI

I heard that last year only 16 people graduated in Electrical Engineering

I also heard that most people fail and end up with 2.6 gpa

is it really that bad at UC irvine?

would going to UCI be a bad choice for someone that wants to be an Engineer?

UCI’s graduation rate for engineering students is 80 something percent, which is among the best for public schools. In order to fail out, you’d literally have to get like a 1.0 gpa for three quarters in a row (and even then you might not). It almost never happens.

There’s no denying that engineering is tough, but if you start as a first year, pass all your classes and actually make an effort to get your classes (by signing up as soon as your enrollment window opens), you’ll have no problem graduating in four years.

If it helps try thinking of it this way, pretty much all your engineering (and math + physics) classes will be graded so that the people with the mean grade in a class get a b-/c+. So as long as you do at / above the average you’re ok. That’s also what dictates the “average” gpa for the most part.
