Engineering Housing

Received the housing packet but it seems like there is a special floor or dorm for every major except engineering. Any one know if there is such a place?

Since he probably won’t be getting any financial aid, how would you compare the programs? For instance I think that Cal Poly has 90 Computer science majors and 90 Computer engineering majors.
Anyone know how many total majors in Computer science and comp engineering at USC?

ok…i can only really answer your question about dorms. there is no real floor for engineers, most likely because there are just so many of them and in more than one respect are extremely diverse. the common thread between them is just too weak to justify putting them all on one floor, not without singling out a certain type of engineer…like the “nerdy” type or the “social” type. that and sort of related to that is that engineering in general just isn’t that “unique” or specialized…by that i mean, cinema and music majors could probably talk endlessly about movies and music outside of class, just out of pure interest, while engineers…i dunno, they could talk about partial differential equations? :stuck_out_tongue: (yes, i’m an engineer, but no…i don’t talk about partial differential equations for fun haha)

despite the lack of a floor, if you want housing with a lot of engineers, Parkside has a very high percentage of engineers compared to other housing on campus. that and the Honors dorms, Marks Hall and Trojan Hall. you don’t necessarily need a scholarship to live there, but it helps and they do make exceptions.
