Hello, I was just admitted to Mudd (my top choice YAY !) and I was wondering if it is possible to do a Russian minor with an Engineering major. I know that the Engineering coursework has the most requirements and I was wondering if I would have room in my schedule to complete the 8 classes that Pomona requires for a Russian minor (Russian is offered through Pomona).
And this not be the right forum to ask in, but is it possible to test into a higher level language course at Pomona?
Hey! I just got accepted into Mudd as well! And I plan on doing Russian courses at Pomona too (though I’m not thinking about getting a minor). And from what I’ve heard, they have a placement exam during the orientation, so I guess you could get placed into higher level courses. But I’ve also been told that Pomona language courses tend to conflict with Mudd courses especially during the first two years (Mon, Wed, Fri morning), so I’m not sure if we’ll actually be able to fit everything into our schedules.
