Im a hs senior in tx, with a competitive SAT (1470), 4.20 weighted GPA, top 10 in class
Applying to primarily engineering schools, interested in computer science, an urban setting would be nice
I admittedly and mistakenly focused my application process heavily on reach schools (USC, UC, CU, NYU) as well as az state and col state as safeties.
I applied to UT as well, but a big part of me wants to experience a new culture outside TX, preferably west coast type vibe.
Im worried of the chance that my dream schools wont accept me, or financially sustain, and Im wondering if there are any schools that are still taking applications with both prestige and ideally a big city, or near one.
I realize how irresponsible this is as many app deadlines have passed, but are their any reputable ones still available?
LMU is taking applications until Jan 15. Meets the location criteria (super location actually) - not sure of the academic status you want, but they do provide decent scholarships to high end students and they have a new science/engineering building and focus. Good network after graduation (LMU grads look out for LMU grads.) Lots of flexibility within engineering - easy to move around within the major, or frankly, any other major. Perks of a private school - mentoring, class size, and overall ease.
Another private with 2/1 deadline is Gonzaga - Jesuit and an under rated gem. Good connections to job market in Seattle. Spokane can be meh to some in that it is on the way to no where else…again, thinking of merit money - they are very generous.
UCB - (Univ British Columbia) - visited it twice - wow it is beautiful and they offer school and formal internship/job as part of a lot of majors. 2/2 deadline.
Not sure if these fit all your criteria but might be worth an online look.
