Engineering Schools?

<p>I’ve been searching for engineering schools lately, and saw that the usnews had different rankings for colleges that offer up to doctorate degree, and another for those that offered up to master’s degrees. I was wondering how Cooper Union (rank #4 in master’s rankings) is compared to say, Penn State, (rank #17 in doctorate rankings). </p>

<p>How are these colleges different in education, academics, and recognition?</p>

<p>Don’t have info on specifics, but I’ve been told that doctoral-granting institutions usually have better research opportunities.</p>
