Engineering, Serious Students, Close Community

Currently a first year at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, I’m looking for transfer into a school that is…

 1. fueled by an intellectual curiosity and passion (i.e. University of Chicago).
 2. committed to providing an extremely strong engineering program (i.e. Harvey Mudd).
 3. defined by having real cohesion among its community–interaction between students and professors occur because both parties are genuinely interested in each other (i.e. Elon).

I believe Carnegie Mellon, Harvey Mudd, and Wash U in St. Louis might best fit these qualities. Do you agree? What other schools might also fit these qualities?

Thanks.

Rice University. Very close relationships with profs and students due to the residential college system and low student to faculty ratio.

For engineering programs, Harvey Mudd, Caltech, Stanford, MIT, or Cal is the way to go. Caltech & MIT especially are the ultimate nerd paradise.
