on the english section, how can i improve on questions like:

if author A had considered inserting _____ how would it change the meaning of the passage? most of the time i get it, but some times i don’t becomes it seems subjective to me. how can i improve on this parT?

Play devil (thanks to noitaraperp for the great SAT advice). It works just as well for ACT.
Instead of choosing the correct answer focus on eliminating the incorrect answers; it works great for rhetorical questions.
