English Lit: Generic Things to Write About?

anyone have generic things to write about during the essay part?

For instance, what exactly about diction/tone/syntax/personification helps “amplify the meaning of work?”

Essentially, what can I write about on the essays that could be used to for almost any piece (logically thinking, of course)

Metaphor is an easy one.

As long as you know what those words mean, my advice is to BS like a champ. If it sounds good, you’ll get a good score. That is the beauty of English compared to calculus. If you see a symbol that no one else sees, people can’t say your wrong; they just “differ in opinion.” Do you really think some of those authors intentionally included everything your teacher brings up? No, people read into it and find new things. That is what literature is about.
