I get accepted by UT Austin as a transfer applicant, but Boston College hasn’t given me a decision letter. The deadline for UT Austin’s enrollment will be passed before Boston College gives me their decision as to my application. If I could, I want to accept UT Austin’s admission early as an insurance and wait until Boston College gives me their decision since I want to consider both of them at once.
However, I am not quite sure if I can do this legally or not (or something like prohibited by their school laws). I am not looking forward to getting into trouble by being greedy and not be able to enroll in neither of them.
Does anyone know if I can enroll in one school and quit this school right after and enroll again in another school? Will this likely to cause any issues?
This happens all the time and is no issue. One can only deposit at one school at a time, but you are allowed to change your mind. You should accept UT Austin’s offer and pay the deposit. If you get into BC and would rather go there then withdraw from UT Austin (a good idea to do it in writing) and simultaneously deposit at BC. You should expect to lose your deposit at UT Austin.
Thanks! That really is helpful to know!
