Entering AP credits into AMCAS

I already emailed AMCAS to ask this question but they weren’t very helpful.

On my transcript I was given exemption for 14 courses, but received only 30 credits total for all of them (as a maximum), which means it is difficult for me to allocate a specific number of credit hours per course when I enter them on AMCAS. For example, do I put 3 credit each for the first 10 courses and leave the last 4 courses as 0 credits, or do I put 2.14 credits for each course (30/14)? Furthermore, some of the AP equivalent courses on my transcript are given as ECON 1XX or ENVR 2XX. Are these appropriate course numbers to write on AMCAS?

Thanks for any suggestions

Ask your school’s pre-med office. You can’t possibly be the first person with this issue.

You need to record all courses EXACTLY how they’re written on your official transcript. So you need to write the name of the courses and number of credits the way it’s written in your transcript. If you still have a question, call AMCAS. My son calls them every time he’s not sure how to do something and he can’t find an answer in the manual. They’re very responsive and helpful on the phone.
