I have heard Art Center is tough to get into, especially for freshman straight out of high school. I am interested in the Concept Art section of the Entertainment Design major. I have been doing this kind of thing since I was little, without knowing there was a term for it.
I will be a high school junior this fall and will be working to build my portfolio further over the next year, getting feedback at National Portfolio Day. I realize the age of an incoming freshman is usually higher than 18, which leads me to believe students are building their skills elsewhere for a couple years after high school before applying to this college.
I know acceptance is based upon talent, grades, etc., and is a long-shot. So, I’d like to take advantage of the next year to position myself to increase my chances of getting in. If you are or know of someone who was accepted there right after high school, can you give any feedback on what you did or what I should do it help increase my chances?
