Entering Junior with no ECs?

Hi! I’m a hispanic female from Maryland. I just finished my sophmore year with a 4.0 GPA ever since I started high school (Yes, I’ve gotten al A’s since freshman year). I’m currently transferring to a new school, which is my designated local school. I attended an IB school that was pretty far away in hopes of taking IB. However, because it was far away, I wasn’t able to stay afterschool for anything. So that means I haven’t joined any sport of club. THUS, my reason for transferring to my local school.

My goals for my junior year:

 • Take 3 AP’s (AP Cacl, AP Lang, AP World)
 • Get into NHS thanks to my GPA
 • Join Soccer and Softball

I’ve completed all my community service hours and I’m doing more. I volunteered at a nursing home and this year I’ll be a Teen Assistant at my old sunday school.

Is this good enough to get into college? Assuming I continue to get straight A’s and I do well on my SAT, will this get me a merit based scholarship? My goal is to get a full ride to University of MD College Park

No EC’s will really hurt you. When people join things junior year it looks like they are trying to impress colleges. You should have done things on the weekends, even if you could not do after school activities (I have had weeks were I have five things on the weekend). You have a good shot of getting in, that being said a full ride is unlikely with no EC’s.
