Entry-level Food Processor

I am looking for a food processor as a gift for my recent college grad daughter.

I personally have a 2 liter (about 8.5 cup) Braun food processor, which was a replacement for my old Braun food processor.

I liked my old one better, because the attachments were all metal. (With my “new” one - which is actually some years old - the different blades snap into a plastic fitting, which I don’t think is as efficient or as easy to clean.)

It looks like these days Cuisinart has the market pretty much wrapped up, but I looked at models in the store and they seem big and clunky to me.

What are your recommendations? I prefer to spend $150 or less.

Forgot to add - I do want to provide her with some attachments, a grating attachment at the minimum.

I have this Cuisinart: http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-DLC-10S-Classic-7-Cup-Processor/dp/B00004S9EM/ref=sr_1_5?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1447017704&sr=1-5&keywords=cuisinart and find it more than adequate when I need a food processor.

^I have the old school version of the one above. Not sure if the new ones are made as well but mine is still going strong after 30 years. And it is used frequently! I would defintely go Cuisinart.

I have a Cuisinart also, with a metal base. I’ve had to get a few parts replaced through the years but Cuisinart provides them (for a price).

I ave the cuisinart prep 9 for 5 or so yrs which I find easy to use and versatile. It came with metal blade, the plastic blade meant for dough, a slicing blade and a grating blade. It feels sturdy except for the blade stem is plastic and it is tempting to try to pick it out of the drawer by the stem, so I have to remember not to do that.
